Clearer Than in Years

Well I woke up today to a brightening room,
For the first time in years the day didn’t hold any fears,
All the buildings and trees swept clean by the breeze
Walking under the sun feels like it’s all just begun.

Clearer than in years, oh
Clearer than in years
Clearer than in years

I’ve been living my life with a sense of regret,
Over things that I’ve done and people I’ve met,
But how long can you stand in the wake of the past?
You must try life again, be free at last.

Clearer than in years, oh
Clearer than in years
Clearer than in years

And every old friend is a new one today,
As we meet under skies without any grey,
And I’m telling you now for the rest of my days
I’m happy for free, that’s the picture of me.

Clearer than in years, oh
Clearer than in years
Clearer than in years, oh
Clearer than in years
Clearer than in years
